Absolutely! I have personally seen brainspotting work a lot of magic but I’ll let some of the research speak for itself here:
On page 6 of this community survey of folks impacted by the Sandy Hook shooting, you’ll see that the highest % of folks found brainspotting to be very effective against their PTSD symptoms.
This study used brain imaging to find that brainspotting was effective at treating PTSD.
This article found that six sessions of brainspotting reduced PTSD symptoms, improved daily functioning, and a reduction in depression symptoms.

Yes, this study found a significant reduction in anxiety symptoms amongst brainspotting clients. And the interesting thing is that brainspotting continues to work even 6 months after the brainspotting session!
Also anecdotally, folks generally feel calmer and more connected to themselves after a few brainspotting sessions. -
Well the great thing about brainspotting is that if you don’t want to talk - you don’t have to!! This is especially great if you are a people pleaser, feeling like you need to be a “good” client in therapy, or just struggle with opening up.
Brainspotting is a bottom up processing modality which means that it works by connecting through the oldest part of our brain to access information. It moves from the inside out. Whereas talk therapy uses the youngest part of the brain and accesses information from the outside in, so to speak. This is why talk therapy can take a long time to get to the root of the pain.

Brainspotting intensives can vary from 3 hours (half day), 6 hours (full day) to multi day sessions. How long you want just depends on your needs. We will discuss this at your initial intake session.
No this doesn’t mean brainspotting for 3 or 6 hours straight.
We follow YOUR lead and go at YOUR pace. Taking breaks to move our bodies, get snacks, and talk in between intensive processing.
It’s deep work but there are still moments for laughter and lightness amongst all the trauma therapy too. -
I do offer brainspotting for my weekly clients. So if you’re not sure about an intensive, let’s work together weekly and brainspotting may naturally arise as something that you want to do! Or I may suggest it if I think it might be helpful for what you’re working on.
